The Last Problem is the final episode of My Little Pony: Friendship is Magic season 9. As the name suggests, it is the last time viewers get to see their favourite characters in the series. The episode gives a perfect ending to a fantastic show that ran for almost a decade.

The episode starts with Twilight Sparkle getting ready for her coronation as the new ruler of Equestria. She is nervous and overwhelmed by the sheer responsibility that comes with the title. She asks her mentor, Princess Celestia, for advice, who reminds her that she has come a long way and is ready for this next step. Twilight is greeted by her close friends, Rainbow Dash, Fluttershy, Rarity, Pinkie Pie, and Applejack, who bring her an elderflower cake as a present.

As Twilight gets crowned, she looks back at her journey, the many obstacles, and challenges that she had to overcome, the lessons she learned from her friends, and the extraordinary bond they shared. The story then takes us on a beautiful journey of remembrance, as Twilight revisits some of the most memorable moments of her life with her friends.

The episode highlights each of the character's stories. Viewers get to see Rainbow Dash and Fluttershy starting a wildlife sanctuary together, Rarity opening a new boutique in Canterlot, Pinkie Pie baking with her family, and Applejack taking care of Sweet Apple Acres with her brother Big Macintosh. Each of the characters interacts with their respective siblings, who fans of the show will be familiar with.

As much of a trip down memory lane that The Last Problem is, it is also a story about transitions and welcoming new beginnings. Twilight realizes that she will miss many of the things that made her childhood special, but as she looks ahead, she also sees opportunities for growth and a bright future. She says goodbye to the Ponyville Library, where she spent her childhood, but is excited about the new castle that she will now call home.

The closing of one chapter and the start of another are themes that are reiterated throughout the episode. Princess Celestia, Princess Luna and Discord are shown discussing the end of an era, whilst relishing their fond memories of the past with their companions. Amongst all of this, they take solace that the future holds bright for the magic of friendship. The episode shows how friendships, though changing, can be a constant in one's life, always providing support and comfort.

As the story draws to a close, the show's creators beautifully tie all the loose ends and bring together Twilight's most cherished memories for a perfect final scene. Without giving spoilers, let's just say that The Last Problem is not just a culmination of a season, but a grand farewell that the show deserved.

My Little Pony: Friendship is Magic - The Last Problem is a heartwarming and satisfying ending to a much-loved show. The episode will make viewers nostalgic and send them on a trip through memory lane. It showcases the growth of each of the characters and the importance of the magical bond of friendship that brought them all together. Through The Last Problem, fans will have a chance to say goodbye to Twilight Sparkle and her friends, whom they have come to know and love over the past decade.
