In the second episode of My Feet Are Killing Me season 1, titled Looks Bad, Feels Worse, we follow Dr. Brad Schaeffer and Dr. Ebonie Vincent as they deal with even more extreme cases of foot and ankle problems. The show starts with a woman named Cindy who has a large bone sticking out of her foot, causing immense pain and difficulty in walking. Despite previous surgeries, her problem seems to have worsened and she has resorted to wearing loose-fitting shoes to accommodate the bone protrusion. Dr. Schaeffer and Dr. Vincent team up to help her by performing a corrective surgery on her foot.
The next patient that the doctors see in the episode is Tracy, who has suffered from a bunion for several years. Despite trying various treatments, her bunion is now so severe that she is unable to fit into any of her normal shoes. Tracy is eager to take care of the problem, but Dr. Schaeffer tells her that it will take more than just a simple surgery to correct the issue. He tells her that she will need to take part in physical therapy and make significant lifestyle changes to prevent the bunion from recurring.
Another patient, Paul, comes in with a severely infected toe. After months of ignoring the issue, he has developed a deep infection that is causing pain in his entire foot. Dr. Vincent and Dr. Schaeffer work together to remove the infection and show Paul that he needs to take better care of his feet if he wants to avoid further issues.
In the episode, we also meet Tony, who has a rare case of osteomyelitis – an infection in his leg bone that has gone largely untreated for several years. Tony's condition is so severe that there is a risk that his leg might need to be amputated. Despite this, the team of doctors at the clinic try a new treatment plan to try to save his leg.
Throughout the episode, we see how each patient has a unique story and a unique set of challenges that they must overcome. The doctors at the clinic work tirelessly to help each person with their individual problems, while also educating them on how to take better care of their feet and avoid future issues.
