On seeing Susan's purchases are largely dog food, Alfie questions her culinary prowess - she announces they are getting a puppy! Returning from work, Ben overhears Susan talking about adoption and is relieved when he realises Susan and Alfie are talking about a dog not a child. But first they must face a visit from Mrs Philbin who insists on vetting the family home.
