My Dad the Rock Star season 2 episode 11, titled "Kant Buy Me Love," follows the Harris family as they face financial troubles due to the declining popularity of Zane's music career. Unable to afford a new amplifier for his guitar, Zane is forced to borrow one from his neighbor, who turns out to be his old high school rival, Chad Bradford.
Meanwhile, Willy is excited to attend the school dance with his crush, but is dismayed to learn that the theme is a formal masquerade. Unable to afford a tuxedo or a mask, Willy turns to his father for help.
Zane realizes that he needs to pick up more gigs in order to make ends meet, but struggles to find bookings. His daughter, Alyssa, suggests that they create a viral video to gain attention, but their attempts to film one result in comical mishaps.
As the day of the dance approaches, Willy grows increasingly anxious about not having a costume. Zane comes up with the idea to create a mask and tuxedo out of cardboard boxes and other household items. He and Willy spend hours crafting the outfit, and despite some setbacks, they manage to create a unique and memorable costume.
At the same time, Zane receives a call from a record executive who has seen their viral video and wants to sign Zane to a new record deal. Overjoyed at the news, Zane realizes that the best way to succeed in the music industry is to be true to himself and his unique style.
As the episode concludes, Zane and Willy attend the dance together, with Willy proudly donning his cardboard tuxedo and mask. Zane performs at the event, and the crowd goes wild, signaling a new beginning for the Harris family.
