In My 600-lb Life season 10 episode 14, titled "Lisa's Journey," viewers are introduced to Lisa, a 43-year-old woman who weighs over 700 pounds. She has spent most of her life struggling with her weight, and it has taken a toll on her physical and emotional health. Lisa is barely able to move or take care of herself, and she fears that she will not live long enough to see her daughter grow up.
The episode begins with a look into Lisa's daily routine, which includes mostly lying in bed and relying on her teenage daughter to take care of her. Lisa discusses her history with food and how she turned to it for comfort after experiencing trauma in her childhood. She also opens up about her struggles with depression and anxiety, which have only worsened as her weight has increased.
Dr. Nowzaradan, the renowned bariatric surgeon, agrees to take on Lisa as a patient and helps her make the journey from Iowa to Houston, Texas, where he is based. Dr. Nowzaradan puts Lisa on a strict 1200-calorie diet and recommends that she start exercising by simply moving her arms and legs while lying down. Lisa struggles to stick to the diet and exercise regimen, but she is motivated by the prospect of being able to live a healthier life and be there for her daughter.
Over the course of several months, Lisa makes progress and loses a significant amount of weight. However, she faces setbacks along the way, including a difficult surgery to remove excess skin and a relapse in her eating habits. Dr. Nowzaradan and Lisa's daughter are there to support her through these challenges, but ultimately it is up to Lisa to decide whether she wants to continue making progress or fall back into old habits.
The episode ends with an update on Lisa's progress since filming ended. Now several years later, viewers will see how much weight Lisa has lost, if she has maintained her progress, and how her life has changed as a result of the journey she started on My 600-lb Life.
