Tamy is a 45-year-old mother of two from Kentucky who weighed over 550 pounds when she first appeared on My 600 lb Life. She suffered from lymphedema and struggled to walk or do basic tasks. With the help of Dr. Nowzaradan, Tamy underwent weight loss surgery and lost over 300 pounds. In this episode, we catch up with Tamy to see how she's been doing since her surgery.
We learn that despite losing so much weight, Tamy still struggles with her health. She continues to have issues with lymphedema and her mobility is limited. Tamy is frustrated because she thought weight loss surgery would solve all her problems, but it hasn't been that simple. We also see Tamy dealing with family drama as her daughter's relationship with her ex-husband causes tension in the family.
Meanwhile, Karina is a 35-year-old mother of two from Colorado who weighed over 600 pounds at her heaviest. Karina had a difficult childhood and turned to food for comfort, which led to her extreme weight gain. She was bedridden and required assistance with even the simplest tasks. Karina underwent weight loss surgery with Dr. Nowzaradan and has lost over 400 pounds.
In this episode, we see Karina thriving in her new life. She is now able to walk and do things for herself that she never thought possible. Karina has even started working as a motivational speaker, sharing her weight loss journey and inspiring others to make healthy lifestyle changes. We also see Karina preparing for skin removal surgery to remove excess skin left behind after her weight loss.
As always, this episode of My 600 lb Life Where Are They Now? showcases the challenges and triumphs that come with extreme weight loss. Despite the difficulties, Tamy and Karina are both fighting to improve their health and live their best lives possible.
