In season 9, episode 11 of Murder, She Wrote titled "Final Curtain," Jessica Fletcher finds herself in the middle of a theatrical mystery when she attends a preview performance of a new play that she authored. The play is called "The Curse of Prometheus," and it tells the story of a group of archeologists who discover an ancient temple that they believe is cursed. And then there's the issue of the cursed set, which is rumored to have been built on a burial ground. Could the curse be real? Or is someone using it as a cover-up for murder?
As the investigation heats up, Jessica realizes that she's in danger too. Someone is watching her every move, and she knows that they'll stop at nothing to keep their secrets hidden. With time running out, Jessica must use all of her wits and intuition to solve the case before the final curtain falls.
As usual, Murder, She Wrote delivers a suspenseful and engaging mystery that keeps viewers on the edge of their seats. Angela Lansbury shines once again as Jessica Fletcher, a character that has become a beloved icon of television. The supporting cast of Final Curtain is also excellent, bringing depth and dimension to a diverse group of characters that are both likable and suspicious.
The episode is well-written and beautifully shot, with a haunting and atmospheric setting that adds to the sense of intrigue and danger. The twisty plot keeps viewers guessing until the very end, and the final reveal is satisfying and heart-wrenching.
