Ep 5. Lines of Excellence

In season 8 episode 5 of Murder, She Wrote titled "Lines of Excellence," Jessica Fletcher finds herself caught up in the world of academia when she visits her former professor at Manhattan University. The professor, Dr. Aaron Kramer, has just been awarded a prestigious prize for his work on a long-lost Shakespeare play, but when he is found dead in his office, Jessica is determined to uncover the truth behind his death.

As Jessica delves deeper into the case, she discovers that there are plenty of people who would have benefited from Dr. Kramer's demise. The university's dean, Dr. Edward Graham, had been looking to retire, and with Kramer out of the picture, he's a shoo-in for the job. Then there's Dr. Sarah Graiman, Kramer's assistant, who seems to have a bit too much knowledge about the inner workings of the department. And let's not forget about the graduate student who had been turned down for a fellowship by Kramer just weeks before his death.

As Jessica begins to piece together the clues, she comes to realize that the answer may lie in the long-lost Shakespeare play that Kramer had been working on. Could there be something in the play that someone didn't want him to find? Or was it simply a case of jealousy and greed?

With the help of her old friend and police detective Lieutenant Artie Gelber, Jessica sets out to crack the case. But as she gets closer to the truth, she finds herself in danger. Will she be able to solve the mystery before it's too late? Or will the killer get away with murder?
