In season 4 episode 8 of Murder, She Wrote, titled "Steal Me a Story," Jessica Fletcher is invited to speak at a writers conference in New York City. After arriving at the conference, Jessica bumps into her old friend and fellow writer, Fay Hollister, who is in the midst of a career slump and struggling to come up with a new novel.
