In Murder, She Wrote season 2 episode 20, titled "Menace, Anyone?", Jessica Fletcher (played by Angela Lansbury) finds herself in yet another precarious situation. While visiting an art exhibit in New York City, she witnesses a man being brutally attacked with a knife right in front of her. She quickly alerts the authorities and tries to help the victim, but he ultimately succumbs to his injuries.
As the investigation gets underway, Jessica learns that the man was actually a former business partner of hers, and that he had recently threatened to reveal some damaging information about her. She becomes a prime suspect in the case, and sets out to clear her own name while trying to find the real killer.
With the help of her good friend and local detective Lieutenant Haskell (played by David Ogden Stiers), Jessica begins to piece together the events leading up to the murder. She uncovers a web of deceit and betrayal involving several people close to the victim, including his wife, his brother, and his business partner.
As the case intensifies, Jessica finds herself in grave danger as the killer becomes more determined to eliminate anyone who gets in their way. She must use all of her wit and intelligence to outsmart the perpetrator and bring them to justice before they can strike again.
