In this episode of Muppet Babies, the gang is on a mission to solve a mystery - the mystery of the missing pearls. Miss Nanny's prized pearl necklace has gone missing and the Muppet Babies are determined to find the culprit.
As they investigate, Gonzo suggests that they create a trap to catch the thief. Kermit is a bit unsure about the idea, but the gang decides to give it a go anyway. They construct an elaborate trap using various toys and objects in the nursery.
Meanwhile, Rowlf is feeling a bit down. He misses his old life as a piano player and feels like he's not able to contribute to the group in a meaningful way. Fozzie tries to cheer him up by suggesting they start a new band together, but Rowlf is hesitant.
As the Muppet Babies continue their investigation, they begin to suspect that Animal might be the culprit. He's been acting a bit strange and seems to be hiding something. When they approach him, he denies having anything to do with the missing pearls.
The gang is stumped, but then Piggy has a realization. She remembers seeing Rowlf playing with some pearls earlier in the day. When they confront Rowlf, he admits to taking the pearls. He explains that he just wanted to feel useful and didn't mean to cause any harm.
The Muppet Babies forgive Rowlf and come up with a new plan to involve him in their adventures and activities. They start a band together, with Rowlf on piano and Fozzie on guitar. They even write a song about their friendship and how they all help each other out.
In the end, Miss Nanny finds her pearls and is overjoyed. The Muppet Babies realize that they don't need to solve a mystery to feel important - they just need to support each other and have fun together. And with Rowlf back in the mix, the nursery feels like home once again.
