In the penultimate episode of season one of Mummies Alive, Ja-Kal, the leader of the guardians, goes missing. The episode entitled "Missing Ja-Kal" begins with Ja-Kal spotting a thief who is trying to break into a jewelry store. Ja-Kal pursues the thief, but when the thief jumps into a sewer, Ja-Kal hesitates. Despite knowing that the sewers are dangerous, Ja-Kal follows the thief to recover the stolen jewels.
Meanwhile, the other mummies, Rath, Armon, and Nefer-Tina, become concerned when Ja-Kal does not return. They decide to form a search team to look for him. They first check the sewers, but soon realize that the sewers are too dangerous to navigate alone. They eventually realize that Ja-Kal may have been kidnapped since he is too skilled to have gotten lost or hurt in the sewers.
The guardians consult with their friend, Dr. Jules, who helps them track Ja-Kal's movements. They discover that Ja-Kal was last seen at the jewelry store, and the thief he pursued was part of a larger group of thieves. The mummies then decide to split up and search for Ja-Kal in different parts of the city. Rath and Armon head to the docks to gather information, while Nefer-Tina visits a popular night club to see if anyone has any information.
During their investigation, Rath and Armon hear about a group of thieves known as the "Red Hand" who have been stealing valuable artifacts from museums around the city. The two mummies decide to investigate further but are captured by the Red Hand. Meanwhile, Nefer-Tina discovers that the owner of the night club is involved with the Red Hand and is the one who kidnapped Ja-Kal.
After learning this information, Nefer-Tina sneaks into the Red Hand's hideout to rescue Ja-Kal. She manages to free him, but they are quickly discovered and must fight their way out. Eventually, all of the guardians reunite, and they face off against the Red Hand.
During the fight, Ja-Kal confronts the leader of the Red Hand, who reveals that he was the one who led the team that entombed the mummies centuries ago. Ja-Kal is shocked to hear this news but manages to defeat the Red Hand and recover the stolen artifacts.
In the end, the mummies return to their home beneath the city, where Rath, Armon, and Nefer-Tina apologize for not doing more to help Ja-Kal. Ja-Kal forgives them and tells them that they are a team and that everyone's safety is more important than recovering stolen artifacts. The episode ends with the guardians returning to their sarcophagi, ready to rest and to protect the city once again.
Overall, "Missing Ja-Kal" is an action-packed episode that highlights the importance of teamwork and the danger of going it alone. The episode also provides some backstory about the mummies and introduces a new villain, the Red Hand. The episode sets up the season finale and leaves viewers on the edge of their seats, ready to see how the season will end.
