Ep 1. eps3.0_power-saver-mode.h

In Mr. Robot season 3 episode 1, titled eps3.0_power-saver-mode.h, we pick up immediately where season 2 left off: Elliot has just been shot by Tyrell and we're left wondering if he's alive or dead. The first few minutes of the episode give us a grainy, distorted view of Elliot's world as he's being transported into an ambulance, and we can't tell if it's a dream or reality. As it turns out, Elliot survived the gunshot wound and spends the rest of the episode recovering in the hospital.

While Elliot is in the hospital, Mr. Robot takes the lead in running Fsociety, the group of hackers who are attempting to take down E Corp, the massive conglomerate responsible for many of the world's problems. Mr. Robot is not his usual self, however, and seems more subdued and introspective. He spends a lot of time in the hospital with Elliot, talking to him and trying to work out their differences. Meanwhile, Darlene is trying to rally the troops and continue the fight against E Corp without Elliot's help.

One of the most interesting parts of the episode is a new subplot involving Angela, who has gone to work for E Corp since the events of season 2. Angela seems to be fully on board with the company and their goals, but we soon find out that she has ulterior motives for working there. We also get to see more of E Corp's inner workings, as Angela attends a meeting where the company's executives discuss how to deal with the fallout from the 5/9 hack that Fsociety executed in season 1.

The episode ends with a big reveal that sets up the rest of the season. I won't spoil it here, but suffice it to say that it's a twist that will have major implications for all the characters and their goals.

Overall, eps3.0_power-saver-mode.h is a great start to season 3. It continues the show's tradition of being visually stunning and thematically complex, while also pushing the plot forward in interesting ways. The new subplot involving Angela and E Corp is a welcome addition, and the episode does a great job of setting up the conflicts that will fuel the rest of the season.
