Mr. Neighbor's House is a surreal and darkly comedic sketch show that first aired on Adult Swim in 2016. The show stars Brian Huskey as the titular Mr. Neighbor, a friendly and childlike man who invites the audience into his colorful and chaotic home. Throughout each episode, Mr. Neighbor welcomes a rotating cast of characters played by Mary Holland, Nick Kroll, and other talented comedians to his home for various activities and adventures. However, things quickly take a turn for the bizarre as each interaction becomes increasingly absurd and unsettling.

The show is shot on a set that resembles an old-fashioned children's television show, complete with bright colors and a constant sense of whimsy. However, the content of the sketches is anything but innocent. Each scene features twisted takes on childhood tropes, such as a puppet show that devolves into nihilistic sketches about death and a game of hide-and-seek that ends in a surrealistic nightmare.

The humor in Mr. Neighbor's House can be described as uncomfortable and dark, reminiscent of the works of David Lynch and Tim and Eric. Each sketch is filled with off-kilter jokes and unsettling imagery that subvert the audience's expectations.

One of the standout elements of the show is Huskey's performance as Mr. Neighbor. He fully embodies the character's childlike wonder and innocence, but also subtly hints at a deeper darkness beneath the surface. Holland and Kroll are also fantastic in their respective roles, each bringing their own sense of comedic timing and versatility to the show.

Despite its eccentric and surreal nature, Mr. Neighbor's House has a surprising amount of heart. The final episode of the first season features a touching tribute to Fred Rogers, known for his iconic children's show, Mister Rogers' Neighborhood. The show uses this opportunity to explore the darker aspects of Mr. Rogers' life, but also celebrates his legacy and message of kindness.

Overall, Mr. Neighbor's House is a unique and captivating addition to Adult Swim's lineup of offbeat comedy shows. Its blend of unsettling humor and childlike wonder is unlike anything else on television, and its talented ensemble cast brings the strange world of the show to life with aplomb.
