Ep 2. Gerry Rigs PTA

Gerry Duncan is back with his hilarious misadventures, this time in the second episode of Mr. D's seventh season called "Gerry Rigs PTA." Things are not going as smoothly as he hoped at Xavier Academy, where he teaches social studies. At the parent-teacher association meeting, the school's principal demands Gerry's presence, giving him the task of coming up with an exciting idea to boost the school's reputation.

However, Gerry is not motivated to help the school because his mind is preoccupied with flirting with Lisa Mason, the newly appointed school nurse. His attention is not only directed towards Lisa as he is showing an equal and inappropriate interest in Lisa's colleague and friend, Trudy.

Meanwhile, the school's PTA meeting is shaped around the upcoming science fair, which the principal expects to blow the competition out of the water. Gerry is reluctant and cynical when asked to facilitate the fair, but the school's principal is adamant that the fair must be incredible.

In spite of Gerry's lack of enthusiasm, he hatches an unorthodox plan to win the science fair that he believes will put Xavier Academy on the map. Using his former background in engineering, Gerry rigs a revolutionary contraption that he claims will change the course of the science fair, gaining the school nationwide recognition.

His plan, of course, does not go without its share of hiccups, and like everything else Gerry Duncan puts his hands on, it's bound to end in disaster. As the fair approaches, he is caught up in a series of hare-brained schemes to conceal his malfunctioning prototype invention that he believes is responsible for global destruction.

In the episode, we witness Gerry's relentless attempts at impressing the new school nurse in hopes of landing her affection. His crush becomes an obstacle when Trudy, Lisa's colleague, starts to show interest in him, leading to an awkward love triangle that he has no idea how to handle. Frustrated with both Lisa and Trudy, Gerry finds himself in a pickle, squandering both opportunities as a result.

As always, Mr. D revolves around Gerry's silly antics, leading to hilarious yet disastrous consequences. The show's seventh season and this episode, in particular, showcase Gerry's absurd personality traits with his bizarre teaching tactics, questionable ethics, and lack of moral principles.

The season seven episode two of Mr. D is a must-watch for fans of the show, as it takes us on another rollercoaster ride full of laughs, absurdity, and unpredictable situations that we have come to expect from Gerry Duncan.
