Mr. Bean: The Animated Series follows the comical adventures of the iconic and lovable character, Mr. Bean. In season 1 episode 24, titled Restaurant, Mr. Bean decides to try out a fancy French restaurant for a special night out.
Excited about his fancy dinner plans, Mr. Bean takes great care in getting dressed up for the occasion. He carefully selects his best suit, puts on a fancy tie, and even polishes his shoes to a perfect shine. However, his preparations are disrupted when he accidentally spills pizza all over his suit on the way to the restaurant, leaving him with a less than desirable appearance.
Despite his appearance, Mr. Bean decides to go through with his dinner plans, hoping that no one will notice his pizza-stained suit. However, things only go downhill from there when he arrives at the restaurant. The waiter, who is clearly not impressed with Mr. Bean's appearance, shows him to his table and presents him with the menu.
Unfamiliar with the fancy French cuisine on offer, Mr. Bean struggles to decipher the menu. He ends up ordering a number of dishes, based purely on their strange-sounding names. The first dish that arrives is a small salad, which Mr. Bean eagerly devours despite its small portion size.
However, when the next dish arrives, things take a turn for the worse. Mr. Bean is presented with a live lobster, which he is expected to kill and eat. Faced with this daunting task, Mr. Bean fumbles around with the lobster for a while, before finally managing to catch it and throw it into his soup. However, when he tries to eat the soup, he discovers that it is far too salty, and spits it back out all over the table.
Mr. Bean's antics continue as he tries to eat his main course, which turns out to be a live snail. He struggles to catch the snail, which keeps slipping away from him, causing havoc in the restaurant. In the end, Mr. Bean gives up on the snail, and instead focuses on the cheese course, which he seems to enjoy much more.
However, his enjoyment is short-lived, as he accidentally sets fire to the cheese course, causing chaos in the restaurant. In the midst of the chaos, Mr. Bean manages to escape with his life, but not before causing a huge mess and ruining the fancy French restaurant's reputation.
Overall, Mr. Bean's dinner at the fancy French restaurant turns out to be a disaster. But, as always, his hilarious antics and misadventures will leave audiences in stitches, and ensure that they never look at live lobsters or snails in quite the same way again.
