Entering College is the first episode of the season one of the anime series, Moyashimon: Tales of Agriculture. The episode is directed by Yuichiro Yano and was aired on October 12, 2007.

The anime series follows Tadayasu Sawaki, a university freshman who has the unique ability to see and communicate with microorganisms. In Entering College, Tadayasu is excited to start his college life and reunite with his childhood friend, Kei Yuuki, who he hopes to see at the opening ceremonies.

Upon arriving at the university, Tadayasu quickly realizes that he is a little different from the other students. Unlike them, he can see and communicate with microbes, making him feel like an outsider. However, he soon discovers that there are other students like him who have the same ability - those who are studying agriculture.

Tadayasu begins to explore the university and gets to meet various professors, including Professor Itsuki, who teaches organic chemistry, and Professor Hasegawa, who teaches microbiology. He expresses his interest in their studies and inquires about their research work.

In Entering College, the university puts on a welcome event for freshmen, where they showcase the various clubs and extracurricular activities students can participate in. Tadayasu wanders around and stumbles upon a group of students carrying out a strange experiment. They are making a unique type of alcohol, which is made from rice and fermented with a special yeast microbe. Tadayasu, with his ability to see the microbes, is fascinated by their experiment and is eager to learn more.

As Tadayasu continues to explore the university, he discovers a vast collection of mummies in the basement of the agriculture building. He is fascinated by this collection and becomes curious about the microorganisms that may be associated with these mummies. He decides to visit Professor Itsuki and enquires about where he can learn more about microbiology. Professor Itsuki introduces him to Professor Hasegawa, who is surprised and happy to know that Tadayasu has an interest in microbiology.

Tadayasu learns that the university is holding a "microbe hunt," where students are encouraged to collect and identify different types of microbes from the soil around the university. The microbe hunt is a competition between different departments. Tadayasu joins the agriculture department, and with his unique ability, he discovers many rare and unusual microbes, which impresses his teammates.

In the first episode of Moyashimon: Tales of Agriculture season 1, Tadayasu's unique ability to see and communicate with microbes helps him to gain a new perspective on agriculture and microbiology. His talent also helps him to connect with like-minded students who are interested in agriculture. The Entering College episode sets the stage for the coming episodes and offers an introduction to Tadayasu and the other main characters while showcasing the importance of agriculture and microbiology in our lives.
