Ep 5. Martha's Vineyard: North Tabor Farm

As the fifth episode of Moveable Feast with Relish season 1, Martha's Vineyard: North Tabor Farm takes viewers on a culinary adventure to one of the most iconic islands in the United States. Known for its stunning beaches, rich culture, and some of the freshest seafood around, Martha's Vineyard is a paradise for foodies.

The episode starts off with host Joey Campanaro meeting up with local farmer Simon Athearn at his farm, North Tabor Farm. Simon leads the way through fields overflowing with produce, including tomatoes, peppers, and strawberries. He also introduces Joey to his pigs, which roam the farm and enjoy a diet of locally-grown corn and vegetables.

The two then get to work making a meal featuring the farm's bounty. Joey gets started on the appetizer, which is a bright and flavorful salad made with cherry tomatoes, cucumber, and herbs, topped with a dollop of yogurt and a sprinkle of toasted coriander seeds. Meanwhile, Simon shows Joey how to make his signature focaccia bread, which is topped with caramelized onions and fresh herbs.

For the main course, Simon takes Joey down to the beach to do some fishing. They catch some striped bass, which Joey then cooks over an open flame on the beach. The finished dish is served with a side of grilled zucchini and a drizzle of herb oil.

The meal is capped off with a dessert of grilled pineapple, which is marinated in lime and coconut water before being cooked over the grill. It's then served with a scoop of handmade vanilla ice cream, which is made by Simon using milk from the farm's cows.

Throughout the episode, viewers get a glimpse into the daily life of a Martha's Vineyard farmer, as well as the close-knit community that exists on the island. Joey and Simon share stories about their families, their love of food, and their hopes for the future of farming on the island.
