Episode 5 follows Sang-Gu and Jeong-Woo as they take on a job to clean up the house of a woman who passed away. Upon arriving at the house, they discover that the woman was a hoarder and had accumulated a lot of clutter over the years. As they clean up the mess, they come across a box of letters that belonged to the woman's son, who had passed away many years ago.
The letters reveal that the woman's son, who was a soldier, died in combat during the Korean War. The mother had never been able to accept his death and had kept all of his belongings, including his letters, close to her heart. Jeong-Woo and Sang-Gu are deeply moved by the woman's love for her son and decide to find out more about his life and death.
They track down the whereabouts of the woman's son's army buddies and organize a reunion for them and the woman's family. As they all gather to remember the son, they share stories of their time together and how much he meant to them. The woman finally finds closure and is able to let go of her son's belongings.
Meanwhile, Sang-Gu has been struggling with his own loss as he remembers his mother who passed away when he was young. He had been feeling disconnected from his emotions and unable to grieve properly. However, the experiences with the woman's family and their connection to their loved one's belongings help Sang-Gu come to terms with his own grief and find a way to honor his mother's memory.
In this episode, the importance of connection, empathy, and understanding are highlighted as Jeong-Woo and Sang-Gu uncover the story behind the woman's hoarding and come to understand the depth of her love for her son. It also addresses the impact of loss and how it can be difficult to move on, but with the help of others, it is possible to find closure and healing. Move to Heaven continues to be a heartwarming and emotional journey as the characters navigate their own trauma while helping others.
