In season 8 episode 7 of Mountain Men, titled Desperate Measures, we follow several homesteaders as they face challenges in the remote wilderness of North America.
First, we meet Tom Oar, a veteran mountain man who has spent his entire life living off the land. Tom is facing a difficult winter, as he is running low on supplies and his health is starting to deteriorate. In this episode, we see Tom making some tough decisions as he tries to secure his survival through the harsh winter months ahead.
Meanwhile, in the wilds of Alaska, Marty Meierotto is hard at work on his trapline. Marty is a seasoned trapper who has learned to live off the land in one of the harshest environments on earth. In this episode, we see Marty employing some desperate measures of his own as he struggles to catch enough fur to make ends meet.
Over in Montana, Rich Lewis is also facing some serious challenges. Rich is a seasoned hunter and trapper who has been living off the land for over 30 years. But in this episode, we see Rich facing some unexpected setbacks as he tries to maintain his homestead and provide for his family.
Finally, we meet Eustace Conway, a modern-day mountain man who has spent his life living in the remote wilderness of North Carolina. Eustace's homestead has become a hub for like-minded people who are interested in learning traditional survival skills. In this episode, we see Eustace teaching some new recruits how to live off the land and fend for themselves in the wild.
Throughout this episode, we see each of these homesteaders facing impossible choices and fighting tooth and nail to survive in the harsh and unforgiving wilderness. Whether it's battling extreme weather conditions, fending off wild animals, or simply trying to put food on the table, these mountain men are always on the brink of disaster. But through their sheer grit and determination, they continue to persevere in the face of impossible odds.
