In Season 7 Episode 2 of Mountain Men, titled "Time and Tide," viewers follow the journeys of the men and women living off the grid in the wilderness of America.
Marty Meierotto, a trapper in Alaska, battles the elements as he tries to complete his trapline before the winter weather sets in. He has to move quickly and make the most of the time he has left before the snow and ice make it impossible to travel. Time is of the essence, but he's not alone in the wilderness. As he works, he must also keep an eye out for predators, such as wolves and bears, who could threaten his safety.
Meanwhile, in Montana, Tom Oar is faced with a different kind of challenge. He's been building a new home for himself and his wife Nancy, but he's run into problems with the foundation. As he tries to find a solution, he must also deal with the rising water levels caused by heavy rains. The rivers and streams around his property are dangerous and unpredictable, requiring him to be constantly vigilant as he works.
In North Carolina, Eustace Conway continues to work on his homestead, but he's dealing with a different sort of challenge. Time and the wear and tear of life in the wilderness have taken a toll on his tools and equipment, and he needs to repair or replace them quickly if he's going to keep up with his work. He sets out to harvest trees for lumber, but a storm threatens to derail his plans.
Finally, in the Yaak Valley of Montana, Rich Lewis faces his own challenges as he tries to keep his homestead running smoothly. He needs to clear his property of dead and fallen trees before they become a fire hazard, but the work is tough and time-consuming. He also has to deal with the unpredictable weather and a series of setbacks that threaten to derail his progress.
As these four individuals work to overcome the challenges facing them, they must rely on their skills, experience, and determination to succeed. For the mountain men and women featured in this episode, time and tide wait for no one. They must make the most of every moment and seize every opportunity if they're going to thrive in the wild.
