Motorcity was a fast-paced action series that aired on Disney XD in 2012 and 2013. The show was created by Chris Prynoski, who is known for his work on adult animated series like Metalocalypse and Superjail! Motorcity was a departure from his usual style, as it was aimed at a younger audience and featured more traditional animation techniques.

The show was set in a dystopian future where Detroit had been taken over by an evil billionaire named Abraham Kane. Kane had used his vast wealth to create a technologically advanced city called Detroit Deluxe, which he ruled with an iron fist. The rest of the city, known as Motorcity, was a lawless wasteland where gangs of rebels banded together to fight against Kane's oppression.

The main character of the show was a young rebel named Mike Chilton, voiced by Reid Scott. Mike was the leader of a gang called The Burners, who used their souped-up cars to cause chaos in Detroit Deluxe and fight against Kane's forces. Mike was a fun-loving rogue who always had a quip ready, but he was also brave and loyal to his friends.

Mike's closest ally in The Burners was a spunky mechanic named Julie Kane, voiced by Kate Micucci. Julie was the granddaughter of Abraham Kane and had been forced to work for him until she met Mike and joined the rebellion. Julie was a genius when it came to fixing cars, and she was always coming up with new gadgets and modifications to give The Burners an edge in battle.

The rest of The Burners were rounded out by Chuck, voiced by Nate Torrence, Dutch, Texas, and Klaus. Chuck was the comedian of the group, always making wisecracks and disrupting serious moments. Dutch and Texas were a bickering duo who had a shared history with Mike and were fiercely loyal to him. And Klaus was a tough German with a heart of gold who used his brute strength to take down Kane's robots.

The main villain of the show was, of course, Abraham Kane, voiced by Mark Hamill. Kane was a brilliant businessman who had used his wealth and intelligence to take over Detroit and turn it into his personal playground. He had an army of robots and soldiers at his disposal, as well as a personal jetpack that he used to fight The Burners.

The animation style of Motorcity was unique and eye-catching. The show used a mix of traditional and computer animation techniques to create a world that was both gritty and vibrant. The cars in the show were especially impressive, with each member of The Burners having their own customized vehicle that was a reflection of their personality.

Motorcity had a lot of strengths as a show. The characters were engaging and had a lot of chemistry together. The worldbuilding was creative and detailed, with plenty of interesting locations to explore. And the action was thrilling, with high-speed chases and explosive battles that kept viewers on the edge of their seats.

However, the show also had some weaknesses. The plot was fairly straightforward and didn't take too many risks. There were a few too many episodes that followed the same formula of The Burners causing chaos in Detroit Deluxe and then Kane trying to stop them. And the show struggled to find its audience, as it was a bit too mature for young kids and a bit too silly for older viewers.

Despite its flaws, Motorcity was a fun and entertaining show that deserved more attention than it got. The characters were likable, the animation was stunning, and the world was rich with possibilities. If you're a fan of action shows or post-apocalyptic stories, Motorcity is definitely worth checking out.
