In the first episode of Most Haunted season 2, the team visits the historic Belgrave Hall located in Leicester, England. The hall was built in 1709 and was a family home for several generations before opening to the public as a museum in the 1930s.
The team starts their investigation during the day, exploring the various rooms of the house and learning about the history of the hall. They are joined by a local historian who shares stories of the family who lived in the house, including the tragic tale of a young girl who died of illness in one of the bedrooms.
As night falls, the team begins their vigil in the haunted house, taking turns sitting alone in different parts of the building in an attempt to make contact with any spirits present. Yvette Fielding, the show's host, starts her solo vigil in the garden, where visitors have reported seeing a lady in white walking through the shrubbery.
While the team members in different parts of the house report hearing strange noises, it is in the chapel where Most Haunted's resident medium, Derek Acorah, makes contact with a spirit. He speaks to a man named Samuel who claims to have been a member of the family who lived in the hall, and who had died suddenly and unexpectedly. Samuel asks Derek to convey a message to his family, which he does with intense emotion.
The team also conducts several experiments throughout the night, including using a Ouija board and a device called an EMF meter to try and detect paranormal activity. While the Ouija board doesn't seem to produce any results, the EMF meter goes off several times when placed in certain areas of the house, suggesting the presence of electromagnetic fields often associated with paranormal activity.
As the night draws to a close, the team reconvenes to discuss their findings and reflect on the experiences they have had. Despite some skepticism among the group, many of them report feeling uneasy or sensing a presence while they were in the hall, and the footage captured throughout the night provides evidence to support these claims.
Overall, the episode provides an intriguing look at the history and apparent hauntings of Belgrave Hall, and the Most Haunted team's investigation offers some compelling evidence of paranormal activity that will leave viewers questioning what they believe about the supernatural.
