Ep 8. It's a Wonderful Job

David and Maddie have been selected to be angels in a modern-day Christmas carol based on “It’s a Wonderful Life” for Wobegon Industries, a computer software company run by a pair of high-tech Scrooges bent on ruining Christmas for everyone. In order to convince the miserly Scrooges that there’s more to life than just being rich and successful, David and Maddie must help their disillusioned young employees find the true meaning of Christmas. With the help of some heavenly intervention, the angels bring about some unexpected but much-needed changes in the lives of Wobegon Industries' employees. They inspire these employees to forsake their own selfish ambitions and to rediscover the joy of giving and the true spirit of Christmas. Meanwhile, David receives an unexpected and somewhat dangerous proposal from an old acquaintance who is in the middle of some shady business dealings. As usual, David can’t resist putting himself in danger in order to help someone he cares about. Maddie, on the other hand, has her own set of problems to deal with, including a bizarre case involving a woman who believes she’s Lady Godiva, and a complicated personal relationship with a man who seems to have no interest in pursuing a committed relationship with her. As always, the tension between David and Maddie reaches new heights as they navigate the ups and downs of their relationship while juggling their professional responsibilities as private detectives, but in the end, they come together to help spread some much-needed Christmas cheer to those around them.
