Monday Monday is a British television show that premiered in 2009 and was produced by Fremantle Media. This workplace comedy-drama follows the lives of the staff members of a supermarket corporate office in Leeds, England. The show's protagonist is Christine Frances Healy (Fay Ripley), who has recently been promoted to the position of head of Human Resources.

Christine is a dedicated employee who wants to do well in her new position. However, she quickly finds that managing the people in the office is a challenging task. Her colleagues are a mix of quirky and difficult personalities, including the charismatic and sometimes erratic Tony (Morrissey) who is the head of Marketing, the insecure and out-of-her-depth Rebecca (Jenny Platt) who is Christine's assistant, the lazy and underachieving Tom (Tom Ellis), and the no-nonsense Ken (Neil Fitzmaurice) who is the IT manager.

As the series progresses, viewers get to know the characters better and the show's pace hits its stride. The characters face various challenges at their jobs and also in their personal lives. The series includes a range of comedy, drama, awkward moments, and even some romance.

Although the show mainly revolves around the office setting, it occasionally shifts outside of the workplace. For instance, Christine's family and home life feature prominently in the show. Her husband, Martin (Morrissey), is going through a mid-life crisis and has begun to question his purpose in life. They have two young children who often feature on the show.

The show's creators, Sarah Hooper and Nick Collins, bring their own experiences working in the retail industry to the table. This lends the show a level of authenticity and humor that is fresh and engaging. The show's dialogue is smart and witty, and the characters are multifaceted.

Fay Ripley, who portrayed the no-nonsense Christine, is the standout of Monday Monday. She delivers a masterful performance that is both hilarious and engaging. Her natural charisma and dry wit are the heart of the show. Throughout the series, Christine navigates the various personalities in the office with a sense of empathy and determination that is refreshing.

Tony, played by David Morrissey, is the show's resident rogue. He's charming and witty, often clashing with Christine. Yet, there's a sense of vulnerability to Tony that adds depth to his character. His character arc is one of the most compelling in the series.

Rebecca, played by Jenny Platt, is the most inexperienced employee in the office. She's eager to learn, and her naivete often gets her into trouble. Platt's performance is excellent, highlighting the character's insecurities and self-doubt.

Tom, played by Tom Ellis, is the slacker of the group. He's charming and good-looking, but his laziness often causes problems for his colleagues. Ellis's natural charm brings the character to life, and his comedic timing is perfect.

Neil Fitzmaurice's Ken, on the other hand, is the voice of reason in the office. He's hardworking and practical, serving as a sort of boss to the other employees. Fitzmaurice's natural acting ability brings a sense of realism to Ken's character.

Monday Monday's cinematography is clean and modern, highlighting the office setting's mundane and sometimes bizarre aspects. The show's soundtrack, featuring a mix of contemporary and classic music, ties the show's various themes together, giving it a consistent and engaging feel.

Overall, Monday Monday delivers a lighthearted yet meaningful look at the lives of employees working in a corporate environment. The show's witty dialogue, engaging characters, and relatable themes make it a must-watch for anyone who loves a well-crafted comedy-drama.
