In Mom season 8 episode 3, titled "Tang and a Safe Space for Everybody," the ladies of AA continue to navigate their relationships and careers while grappling with the stresses of recovery and motherhood.
Bonnie struggles with her decision to take in a troubled young girl named Destiny, who has been kicked out of her foster home. As Bonnie tries to support the girl through her trauma, she finds herself questioning whether she has the strength to be a mother figure.
Meanwhile, Christy sets her sights on a new career path: counseling. With the help of her AA sponsor Marjorie, Christy enrolls in a course to become a certified addiction counselor. However, the coursework proves to be more difficult than she anticipated, and she must confront her academic inadequacies.
As Christy and Bonnie navigate their own challenges, the members of their AA group also struggle with maintaining sobriety. Tammy grapples with her newfound freedom after being released from prison and fights the urge to fall back into old habits, while Jill faces an unexpected temptation that threatens her recovery.
Through it all, the women of Mom rely on each other for support and guidance, navigating the ups and downs of life in sobriety while learning to lean on each other for strength and compassion.
