In "The Worm Turns," Molly's class is learning about composting and gardening, and they decide to create their own compost bin. But when Molly and Tooey discover that the bin is overrun with worms, they begin to worry that they are destroying the worms' homes. With the help of their friend Trini, they learn about the important role worms play in the ecosystem and discover a creative solution to keep their compost bin and the worms safe.
In "Little Dog Lost," Molly and Tooey come across a lost dog while on a hike. They search for the dog's owner but come up empty-handed. Unsure of what to do, they turn to Great-Aunt Merna for advice. With her help, they create posters and search the community for clues about the dog's owner. Along the way, they discover the importance of microchipping pets and how it can help reunite lost pets with their owners.
Both adventures in this episode highlight the importance of taking care of the environment and the animals that call it home, as well as the power of community when faced with a problem. Molly and her friends model kindness and resourcefulness in their efforts to protect the worms and reunite the lost dog with its owner.
