Modern Magic Made Simple is a 12-episode anime series that premiered in 2009, and stars voice actresses Ai Nonaka, Haruka Tomatsu, and Hitomi Nabatame. The show's premise revolves around magic and the people who practice it. After the world underwent a massive shift in its magnetic fields, some people found themselves suddenly able to perform magic. But not everyone with magical abilities was able to hone their skills on their own, so a school was built to help these magic users learn how to control their powers.

The protagonist of Modern Magic Made Simple is Koyomi Morishita, a young woman who has always been fascinated by magic but has never been able to perform it herself. She seeks out the school, called the Solomon Academy, in hopes of learning how to cast spells. Koyomi isn't alone on this journey, as she quickly makes friends with a group of other students who are also trying to improve their magical skills.

One of Koyomi's new friends is Yumiko Cristina Ichinose, a girl who is incredibly talented when it comes to magic but has a difficult time connecting with others. Yumiko is a bit of a loner, but Koyomi sees through this and tries to befriend her. As the series progresses, Yumiko starts to open up more and becomes a valued member of the group.

Another member of Koyomi's friend group is Misa Anehara, a girl who is constantly tinkering with magical devices. Misa is incredibly intelligent and has created all sorts of gadgets that use magic, but she still struggles with casting spells. She's a bit socially awkward and doesn't always understand other people's emotions, but her friends appreciate her for her brilliant mind.

The final member of the group is Kaho Mizuki, a transfer student who arrives at the Solomon Academy a few episodes into the series. Kaho is incredibly powerful when it comes to magic, but she's also very self-conscious about it. She doesn't like to show off her abilities and tries to downplay her skills whenever possible. Koyomi and the others try to get her to open up more, and Kaho eventually becomes a close friend to everyone.

Throughout the course of Modern Magic Made Simple, Koyomi and her friends have all sorts of magical adventures. They take on tasks from the school, like hunting down rare magical materials or finding lost spells. They also face challenges from other students who try to sabotage their progress. And along the way, they all improve their magic skills and come to better understand themselves and their place in the magical world.

One thing that sets Modern Magic Made Simple apart from other magic-based anime is its focus on the science behind magic. The show goes into great detail about how magic works, and even includes a few episodes that delve into the history and theory behind different spells. This attention to detail makes the magic in the show feel more grounded and believable.

Another standout aspect of the show is its characters. Each member of Koyomi's friend group is well-developed and memorable, with their own distinct personalities and quirks. The show also has a strong sense of humor, with plenty of lighthearted moments and witty dialogue.

All in all, Modern Magic Made Simple is a charming and entertaining anime that is sure to appeal to fans of magic and fantasy. While it may not have the epic scope of some other anime, it more than makes up for it with its engaging characters and unique take on magic.
