Ep 17. Royal Visit

When the show Modern Family returned for its ninth season, fans were excited to see the beloved characters back in action. The season features a number of memorable episodes, including episode 17, titled “Royal Visit.”

As always, the show follows the lives of the Pritchett-Dunphy-Tucker clan, a blended family consisting of patriarch Jay Pritchett, his second wife Gloria, and her son Manny; Jay’s daughter Claire Dunphy, her husband Phil, and their three kids; and Jay’s son Mitchell, his partner Cameron, and their adopted daughter Lily.

In “Royal Visit,” the family is thrown into a tizzy when they learn that a member of the British royal family, Prince Philip, is coming to their town for an unexpected visit. Despite the short notice, everyone scrambles to get ready for the big event.

Phil, who is always eager to impress, decides to put together a welcoming committee for the prince. He enlists the help of his daughter Haley, who happens to be an event planner, to help him with his grand plans. However, things quickly go awry when Haley’s ideas don’t quite match up with Phil’s vision.

Meanwhile, Claire is dealing with her own set of problems. After accidentally breaking one of Jay’s prized possessions, she is consumed with guilt and determined to make things right. Her attempts to fix the situation only make things worse, however, and before long she finds herself in an even bigger mess.

Elsewhere, Mitchell and Cameron are facing their own challenges. With Prince Philip’s arrival imminent, they decide to hire a professional photographer to take some family photos. However, the photographer turns out to be a bit of a diva, and things don’t go quite as smoothly as planned.

As always, the show’s signature blend of heart and humor is on full display in “Royal Visit.” The Pritchett-Dunphy-Tucker clan is as dysfunctional as ever, but their love and loyalty to one another always shines through in the end.

Throughout the episode, viewers will enjoy plenty of laughs, as well as some heartwarming moments as the family rallies together to make the most of this unexpected royal visit. Whether you’ve been a fan of Modern Family since the beginning or you’re just tuning in for the first time, “Royal Visit” is sure to be a crowd-pleaser.
