Ep 9. When a Tree Falls

In Modern Family season 4 episode 9, titled "When a Tree Falls," the Dunphy family is preparing for a Thanksgiving they won't soon forget. Along with the usual cooking and cleaning, they've decided to cut down their old tree, which has become diseased and dangerous.

Phil is in charge of the operation, but when a mishap occurs and the tree falls in the wrong direction, they're forced to improvise. Meanwhile, Claire is busy prepping the house for her family's arrival and trying to keep everything under control. But when she discovers that one of her guests is someone she's been trying to avoid for years, she's thrown for a loop.

Over at Jay and Gloria's house, the couple is dealing with their own Thanksgiving challenges. Gloria's mother and sister are in town, and they're not exactly getting along. Jay is stuck in the middle, trying to keep the peace while also dealing with some unexpected surprises.

Elsewhere, Mitchell and Cameron are juggling their own Thanksgiving drama. They've been invited to attend two different dinners, one with Cam's family and one with Mitchell's. But when they can't decide which one to go to, they decide to try and attend both at the same time. Needless to say, chaos ensues.

Throughout the episode, the families must learn to overcome their differences and work together in order to have a successful Thanksgiving. As always, the humor is abundant, and the heartwarming moments are sure to bring a smile to viewers' faces.
