In this episode of Modern Family, entitled "Treehouse," the families are all dealing with different issues. For Jay and Gloria, it's their kid's bullying problem. For Phil and Claire, it's their marriage and how to keep the spark alive. For Mitch and Cam, it's their disagreement on how to build a treehouse.
Jay and Gloria's son, Manny, is being bullied at school, which is causing him to struggle with confidence. Gloria wants to confront the bully's parents, but Jay disagrees, thinking it's better to teach Manny how to stand up for himself. The two parents both have valid points and struggle to come to a resolution that works for them both.
Phil and Claire, on the other hand, are struggling with trying to keep the romance in their marriage alive. Phil tries to spice things up by buying new lingerie for Claire, but ends up accidentally giving it to their daughter, Haley. Meanwhile, Claire tries to get Phil to be more adventurous in bed, but he's hesitant and unsure how to proceed.
Mitch and Cam's conflict revolves around building a treehouse for their daughter, Lily. Mitch wants the treehouse to be a simple build with a rustic feel, while Cam wants it to be more modern and extravagant. They both struggle to communicate their vision to each other and end up having some humorous mishaps in the process.
Throughout the episode, we see each family member dealing with their unique struggles and eventually coming to a resolution in their own way. As always, the episode is filled with humor and heartwarming moments that make Modern Family such a beloved show.
