One of the primary storylines of the episode centered around Gloria (Sofia Vergara) and Manny (Rico Rodriguez) who discover a family of mice living in the walls of the Pritchett house. As Gloria struggles to remove the mice, Manny becomes invested in their lives, renaming them and devising a plan to keep them safe. The storyline is hilarious, with Manny's quirks and eccentricities shining through as he becomes more and more attached to the rodents.
Meanwhile, Mitch (Jesse Tyler Ferguson) and Cam (Eric Stonestreet) have had a long-standing feud with their next-door neighbor, the obnoxious and arrogant Pam (Dana Powell).
