Ep 12. Not in My House

Jay and Gloria buy a new house and plans to bring it under renovation. Gloria insists on adding an additional room to the house which opens up a can of worms between Jay and her ex-husband, Javier. Javier gets into a confrontation with Jay where he believes Jay is brushing him out of his children's lives, leading to some ill-fated attempts to manipulate Gloria and sabotage the sale on the new house. Meanwhile, Mitchell, Cameron, and Lily have to stay next door at Claire and Phil's house after their home is fumigated. Mitchell obsesses over their new neighbor's beautiful yard and desperately pleads for his help to teach him his garden secrets, while Cameron becomes close to his neighbors and unknowingly reveals one of their family secrets. Claire begins to suspect that Mitchell is only staying at their house to spy on her and Phil's parenting habits for the purpose of improving his parenting skills. Phil tries to use the situation to bond with Mitchell and teach him some dad skills but ends up majorly embarrassing himself. Alongside the aforesaid events, Alex and Haley are taken aback when they realize they have been accidentally text-flirting with an unknown person they think is their crush. Luke, who is the only one in the family who knows the identity of the texter, takes pleasure in manipulating his sisters' state of mind and eagerly waits to reveal who the texter is.

The episode starts with Jay and Gloria buying a new house from a famous football player, Deion Sanders, and deciding to renovate it. However, things quickly heat up when Gloria insists on adding an additional room to the house. However, Luke, being the sly one, knows the identity of the texter and takes it upon himself to manipulate and torment his sisters by withholding the identity of their texter. Later, when Alex and Haley find out the identity of the texter, they are in for a big surprise.
