Mock the Week is a long-running British comedy panel show that has been entertaining audiences since 2005. In each episode, host Dara Ó Briain invites a panel of comedians to discuss and make fun of the week’s news stories and current events.

Season 18, Episode 2 of Mock the Week once again features a stellar lineup of comedians ready to take on the biggest news stories in a hilarious and irreverent way. The episode opens with Ó Briain introducing the panellists for the night, which include regulars Hugh Dennis, Milton Jones, Nish Kumar, and Angela Barnes, as well as special guests Ed Byrne and Rhys James.

The first round of the episode is a classic “Headliners” game, in which the panellists are given a series of acronyms and asked to come up with witty and funny alternative meanings for them. One of the highlights of this round is a joke from Dennis, who quips that the acronym “BREXIT” actually stands for “Britain’s Really Egotistical Xenophobic I-don’t-know-what”.

The second round of the episode is called “Stand Up if You Love…” and sees each panellist taking turns delivering their own comedy stand-up sets on a chosen topic. This week’s topic is “Online Dating”, and each comedian offers their own unique take on the hilarious and often cringe-worthy world of online dating.

In the third round of the episode, called “If This is the Answer, What is the Question?”, Ó Briain gives the panellists a series of answers and they must come up with the question that would elicit that answer. This round features a number of jokes about everything from the recent outbreak of measles to the seemingly endless Brexit negotiations.

The fourth round is a parody of the classic game show “Family Fortunes”, in which the panellists are asked to guess how members of the public responded to various survey questions. One of the stand-out moments of this round is a hilarious exchange between Barnes and James about the most ridiculous item that someone has ever tried to sell to them online.

The fifth and final round of the episode is called “Scenes We’d Like to See”, in which the panellists are given a series of prompts and asked to improvise funny scenes based on them. Some of the prompts in this episode include “Unlikely Conversations at a Funeral” and “Rejected Children’s Book Titles”, and the panellists offer up a wide variety of hilarious responses.

Overall, Season 18, Episode 2 of Mock The Week is another hilarious and entertaining instalment of this long-running panel show. From the witty one-liners of Milton Jones to the social commentary of Nish Kumar and the irreverent humour of Angela Barnes, the panellists offer a wide range of perspectives on the biggest news stories of the week. Whether you’re a long-time fan of the show or a newcomer looking for some laughs, this episode is not to be missed.
