The episode titled "The Brothers" of the fourth season of Mission: Impossible revolves around a mission that the agency receives from the government. The mission is to free a prisoner, Frank Wellman, who has important information that could save millions of lives. Wellman has been imprisoned in a high-security prison for the past year, and now he has agreed to cooperate with the government in exchange for his release.
Ethan Hunt and his team are given the task of breaking into the prison and freeing Wellman. The team consists of Jim Phelps, who leads the mission, and his three agents - Cinnamon Carter, Rollin Hand, and Barney Collier. Together, they come up with a plan to infiltrate the prison and rescue Wellman.
While devising the plan, they discover that Frank Wellman has a younger brother named Victor, who is also in prison for a petty crime. Victor has been sentenced to a much shorter term and is due for release in a few days. However, they find out that Victor has information about a corrupt judge who has been taking bribes. The judge is about to make a ruling on a case that could have a major impact on public safety, and the information that Victor has could sway the case in favor of justice.
Phelps decides to include Victor in the mission and offers him a deal. If Victor agrees to help them break out Frank, they will not only free him but also ensure that the information about the corrupt judge reaches the right authorities. Victor agrees to the deal and becomes a part of the team.
The team's plan involves Barney Collier, who has to create an illusion of electrical failures in the prison in order to distract the guards. Meanwhile, Rollin Hand impersonates a prison official to gain access to Frank Wellman's cell. Cinnamon Carter poses as a nurse to help Rollin with the escape plan, and Victor is disguised as one of the prison guards.
The team manages to create the distractions and gets Frank Wellman out of his cell. However, during the escape, they discover that the cell next to Wellman's is occupied by a dangerous inmate named Tooth. They realize that Tooth can compromise their entire mission and decide to include him in their plan as well. They make a deal with Tooth and get him to help them escape.
