Ep 27. The Traitor

Edward Hughes (Lonny Chapman), a Pentagon Intelligence officer, defects with coded information on Red China's nuclear delivery potential and is granted asylum by Ambassador Brazneck (Malachi Throne) at the Soviet Embassy. Hand enters the embassy posing as a Russian cryptographer. At the same time Tina works her way through the embassy's ventilating ducts to the vault and replaces the authentic document with a phony. Hand convinces Brazneck that Hughes might be trying to sell the information to another -- and higher -- bidder. Tina plants $10,000 on him while he sleeps. Brazneck confronts Hughes with the phony document and discovers the money. Hughes is arrested when he panics and flees the embassy.
