Kotoko, who had yet not had a birthday celebration with Naoki until the moment, with Funatsu's help, decided to do it for the first time this year for just the two of them. Like a dream come true, Kotoko was expecting her birthday. As she was on her way to meet Naoki, she came across a woman falling down in the middle of the street with blood.

15. A proposal with full of tears

Naoki broke his bone as he tried to protect Kotoko from falling down. Kotoko began to look after Naoki, day and night. On the other hand, Kinnosuke was thinking of proposing to Chris and he went to talk with Naoki. As Kinnosuke made his proposal, Chris, for some reason, rejected him. Kotoko and Naoki were surprised by the result, but they found out that Chris had her own secrets.

Naoki and Kotoko were doing their night shift, and an emergency patient was carried to Tonan Hospital. Naoki's supervising doctor Nishigaki was still doing a surgery, so he decided to do the emergency operation with Kotoko. Kotoko was in a complete panic.

Kotoko passed the National Nursing Examination. However, she couldn't go to Naoki's hospital in Kobe and continued to be a loser at work in Tonan Hospital. Yet Kotoko saw Naoki at Tonan Hospital examing!?

Kotoko made up her mind not to see Naoki until the summer started, but she couldn't concentrate on her study at all. In the end, she went to Kobe just wishing to see him once. Kotoko went to the hospital in Kobe, but she witnessed Naoki and a pair of mother and daughter talking like a family.

After the graduation ceremony, Naoki took the National Medical Practitioners Qualifying Examination. He said, for the sake of his ideal area, he wanted to work at a hospital in Kobe. Unexpectedly, Kotoko was considering transfer to a school in Kobe, but Naoki told her to stay in Tokyo and finished her study. Kotoko was shocked and confused, could not imagine leaving Naoki.

10. "Naoki-san, please take care of Kotoko"

Naoki learned that Kotoko's mom's death day is coming, so he suggested to visit her hometown with Kotoko and Shigeo, paying a visit to her grave. Yet Kotoko was still putting a long face. When they arrived Akita, her mother's relatives and people from the village welcomed Naoki. At first, Naoki was confused and embarrassed, but then got to know the families.

Naoki's cousin Rika came. The beautiful and talented Rika was raised in America and thus frank and straightforward. She gave Naoki a hug when they met again, and Kotoko could not hide her worries. What's more, Rika was the one who took Naoki's first kiss. Rika told Kotoko to give back Naoki and took away their marriage photo. Kotoko could not help pushing her away.

8. Grandma Toyo is a rival

Kotoko started her clinical practice and was responsible for an old lady called Toyo. Toyo was famous for bullying interns and trainee nurses. As Toyo was fascinated with Naoki, Kotoko was constantly called out by Toyo, feeling quite exhausted. One day, Toyo suddenly said that she had a terrible pain chest, which put Kotoko in panic but it was all Toyo's trick.

7. The oath of the nurse cap

Naoki realized that he could be who he is only when Kotoko's around him, so he tried to restore their relationship. With Keita's help, Kotoko passed the test from the nursing school, now only waiting for the ceremony to be granted the nurse cap. There has been a tradition in Tonan University Nursing Department that graduates would get flowers from those who love them at the nurse cap ceremony.

6. A disease that makes a genius worried

Summer holidays began. Having been working on group project for days, Kotoko went bowling with the whole team for celebration. Naoki saw Kokoto became good friend with Keita on their way back, and then was quite cold to Kokoto, shocked by that, went away but it was Keita, not Naoki, who came to comfort her.

Kotoko began her study at the nursing school, yet she kept failing to complete her work during group training and continued causing troubles for others. Marina, who was in the same training group and also happened to be a huge fan of Naoki, asked for a doctor-nurse companion practice. During the companion practice, Naoki noticed that another member of Keita was attracted by Kokoto.

Naoki's mother believed that Kotoko must be pregnant, and the whole family switched to celebration mood.
