Miranda is a British sitcom television series created by Miranda Hart. The show follows the life of Miranda, an eccentric and awkward 30-something woman who often gets into embarrassing and humorous situations.
In season 2 episode 3, titled "Let's Do It," Miranda's mother Penny announces her plans to get married to her long-term partner Derek. Miranda is thrilled for her mother and excited to help her plan the wedding. However, Penny has a surprising request for Miranda. She wants her to sing at the wedding.
Miranda is initially hesitant to agree, as she is not a confident singer and fears embarrassing herself in front of her mother's guests. However, the thought of her mother's happiness persuades her to give it a go. Penny arranges for Miranda to have singing lessons with a local musician, Gary, and thus begins her journey to become a good enough singer for her mother's big day.
While Miranda is busy practicing for the wedding, she becomes increasingly worried about her own romantic life. She is envious of her friend Stevie's flourishing romance with her boyfriend and, to make matters worse, runs into her old crush Gary from the first episode of the series. She becomes smitten with him all over again but struggles to build up the courage to speak to him and ask him out.
As the wedding approaches, Miranda continues to practice with Gary but remains self-conscious about her performance. On the day of the wedding, Miranda finds herself in one of her usual awkward situations when she accidentally spills red wine on her white dress. Determined to make the best of the situation, she improvises by adding a red chiffon scarf to her outfit, creating a unique and elegant look.
As Miranda prepares to sing at the wedding, she panics and nearly backs out. However, with encouragement from her mother and friends, she finally takes the stage. To her surprise, she finds that singing in front of a supportive audience is a lot easier than she thought. Her performance is a success, and everyone is proud of her.
After the wedding, Miranda runs into Gary again and finally musters up the courage to ask him out for a drink. As they walk off into the night, viewers are left wondering if this could be the start of a new romance for Miranda.
Overall, "Let's Do It" is an entertaining and heartwarming episode that showcases Miranda's endearing and relatable personality. The episode combines humor, romance, and family relationships in a way that makes for a delightful viewing experience.
