Marinette is back in school, and the whole class is in high spirits because it's the day before the big ice-skating competition. The competition is going to be held in an amazing new rink that's just been built in the centre of Paris. The students can't believe their luck—historically, the skating competition has always been held outside the city, so this year is a real treat.
At the competition, all the competitors are incredible. Amazing flips, spins and jumps fill the air, and no one knows who will take home the trophy. Marinette and Adrien are both in the audience, cheering on their friends. Suddenly a disturbance brews in the back of the rink. It's a villain—Glaciator. He's freezing everything in his path, and the skaters can't move. Ladybug and Cat Noir must come to the rescue, as always. But when Ladybug freezes up, it's up to Cat Noir to stop Glaciator himself.
After the fight, Marinette heads home feeling terrible. Ladybug has never failed before, and now the city is at risk. She heads back to her bedroom—the one place where she always feels comfortable—and the Kwami, Tikki, appears to give her a pep talk. She tells Marinette that sometimes Ladybug can't do everything herself, and it's okay to ask for help. Marinette is reluctant. How is she supposed to ask Cat Noir for help? He's always been such a goofball, and she doesn't think that he could handle the responsibility. But Tikki encourages her to give it a try.
The next day, Marinette is determined to find Cat Noir. After all, she's never asked for help before—she wants to do everything she can to save the city. She spends most of the day looking for him, but he's nowhere to be found. She even makes an announcement on local radio, but still, no response. By the time nightfall rolls around, she's out of ideas. She's sitting on a bench in the park, feeling like a failure, when suddenly Cat Noir appears.
Cat Noir is curious. Why did Marinette want to see him? She’s not sure how to tell him, but she eventually comes clean. She tells him that Ladybug failed to stop Glaciator yesterday, and she's worried that the same thing will happen again. Cat Noir is surprised—Ladybug has never failed before. But, being the gallant superhero that he is, he agrees to help her out.
Together, they go back to the ice rink to confront the villain. This time, Cat Noir takes the lead with Ladybug’s encouragement. They make a great team, and after a few tense moments, they come out victorious. The city is saved once again.
The next day, Marinette is back in class, and everyone is amazed that she and Cat Noir saved the day. But wait—where did Adrien run off to towards the end of the competition? Marinette is curious, so she takes a trip to the ice rink. As she’s wandering around, she bumps into the ice rink manager, who tells her that Adrien had been helping set up the rink the whole time. Marinette is impressed—she had no idea that Adrien had such a hardworking side to him.
As the day winds down, Marinette sits with her Kwami, reflecting on everything that happened. Finally, she admits to Tikki that she’s glad she finally asked for help. It’s been hard for her to be Ladybug and Marinette at the same time, and it’s a lot for one person to handle. But with Cat Noir by her side, she knows that she can tackle anything.
The episode ends with Marinette and Adrien meeting up in the park. They chat for a while, and Adrien mentions that he heard about her amazing heroics yesterday. Marinette is embarrassed, but Adrien is impressed. He tells her that she’s always been his hero, ever since they were kids. Marinette is shocked—she had no idea Adrien had felt that way. But still, she’s happy to hear it. The sun sets over Paris, and Marinette and Adrien walk off into the distance, feeling content and happy.
