Ep 1. The Collector

In the first episode of season 2 of Miraculous: Tales of Ladybug and Cat Noir, entitled "The Collector," we find our heroes facing a new villain intent on stealing their powers. Nathalie, personal assistant to Gabriel Agreste, discovers that the Miraculouses are the source of Ladybug and Cat Noir's powers and relays the information to her boss. Gabriel, who had previously been the supervillain Hawk Moth, now uses the information to create a new identity, The Collector, and sets his sights on obtaining the miraculouses.

The episode starts with a flashback to the moment when Ladybug first received her miraculous, a special piece of jewelry that allows her to transform into a superhero. From there, we see Ladybug and Cat Noir taking on a new villain, who appears to be collecting items seemingly at random. While they are successful in stopping him, they discover that he was after a specific item that he did not manage to collect. This sets the scene for the rest of the episode.

Nathalie is shown investigating the goings-on in Paris, and it is revealed that she is working alongside Gabriel to obtain the miraculouses. She reports back to her boss that she has discovered that the miraculouses are the source of Ladybug and Cat Noir's powers, which is crucial to both of them in their plots to obtain them.

Gabriel creates his new persona, The Collector, and announces to the media that he has a private collection of rare and valuable objects. Ladybug and Cat Noir are immediately suspicious, as they remember that the villain they had previously encountered was looking for a specific item. Gabriel's announcement only seems to confirm their suspicions.

Ladybug and Cat Noir begin to investigate the matter by paying a visit to Gabriel's mansion. They are met by Nathalie, who greets them cordially but does not reveal anything about the whereabouts of The Collector. The heroes search the mansion but cannot find anything. It is then that they realize that they are being watched, and after some investigation, they discover that Nathalie is working with Gabriel to obtain the miraculouses.

Gabriel, as The Collector, sends an invitation to Ladybug and Cat Noir to attend an auction of his private collection. The heroes show up, along with several familiar characters from the show, including Alya, Nino and Chloe. It is at the auction that Gabriel reveals his true identity, and he announces that he has obtained the miraculouses from Ladybug and Cat Noir.

However, Ladybug and Cat Noir are not done yet. They are able to recover their stolen miraculouses and fight The Collector. The episode ends with the defeat of The Collector, but it is hinted that he will be back with a vengeance in the future.

Overall, "The Collector" is a great start to season 2 of Miraculous: Tales of Ladybug and Cat Noir. The episode sets up the season's overarching plot, as well as introducing a new villain and further exploring the relationship between Ladybug and Cat Noir. It's a fun, action-packed episode with a strong premise that will keep fans coming back for more.
