Ep 13. Boris's Bird House / Miffy's Three Wishes
- May 12, 2003
Boris is a talented woodworker, and today he's building a special birdhouse for his feathered friends. Miffy and her friends are excited to see what Boris can create, and watch as he carefully plans out his design. Boris takes great care to make the birdhouse as sturdy and cozy as possible, using all sorts of natural materials like twigs, leaves, and grass. As he works, the children ask Boris questions and offer their assistance. Soon enough, the birdhouse is completed and ready for its new inhabitants to move in. Everyone is thrilled with the finished product, and Boris asks the children if they'd like to go out and explore the garden with him.
As they wander through the flowers and trees, Miffy and her friends come across a curious statue. It's an old wishing well, hidden away in a shady corner of the garden. Boris explains that if they toss a coin into the well and make a wish, it just might come true. The children are skeptical at first, but they decide to give it a try. One by one, they toss their coins into the well and make a wish. Miffy wishes for a new toy, Grunty wishes for a big bowl of ice cream, and Poppy Pig wishes to be the best artist in the world. They all giggle and laugh, thinking that nothing will come of their wishes.
Days pass, and nothing seems to happen. Miffy forgets about her wish entirely, until one day when she discovers a mysterious package on her doorstep. Inside, she finds a brand new toy - the exact one she'd been eyeing at the toy store! She's over the moon with excitement, and runs to tell her friends. They too have been granted their wishes - Grunty finds an enormous bowl of ice cream waiting for her at the ice cream parlor, and Poppy's artwork is showcased in a gallery for all to admire.
The children are amazed at the power of the wishing well, and they hurry back to Boris to tell him about their good fortune. Boris listens with a smile, and tells them that sometimes the universe has a way of making our dreams come true if we believe in them enough. And with that, they all wander back into the garden, excited to see what else they might discover.
