Ep 1. Shot At Dawn

In the 11th season opener of Midsomer Murders, titled "Shot at Dawn," Detective Chief Inspector John Barnaby and his wife Sarah, who is a pathologist, find themselves in the middle of a murder investigation when a convicted murderer is found dead in his cell. The victim, who was in prison for killing his wife, was due to be released on parole the next day.
