Mickey and his best friend Megan, who is a chicken, head to a nearby river to try and spot a sea otter. Along the way, they meet a friendly beaver named Benny, who offers to give them a ride on his dam.
When they finally arrive at the river, Mickey and Megan are amazed by the beauty of the water and the surrounding trees. They soon spot a sea otter swimming and playing in the river. The sea otter is incredibly charming, with its fluffy fur and playful behavior. Mickey and Megan watch in awe as the sea otter dives and rolls through the water, catching fish and floating on its back.

He learns that sea otters are important predators in their ecosystems and help to maintain the balance of the ocean's food chain.
