Ep 19. Nettlesome Light-Blocking Butterfly

Michiko and Hatchin is an anime series that follows the journey of two women, Michiko Malandro and Hana "Hatchin" Morenos, as they travel through a fictional country inspired by Brazil in search of a man named Hiroshi Morenos. In season 1 episode 19, titled "Nettlesome Light-Blocking Butterfly", Michiko and Hatchin find themselves in the city of Santa Maria, where they become involved in a series of dangerous events.

The episode opens with Michiko and Hatchin wandering around the city, trying to find a place to stay for the night. They come across a strange building with a butterfly emblem on the front, and Hatchin is immediately drawn to it. Michiko is hesitant, but the two eventually decide to enter the building and ask if they can stay the night. They are greeted by a group of young women who seem friendly at first, but soon reveal themselves to be part of a cult that worships butterflies.

Michiko and Hatchin try to leave, but the cult members won't let them go. They are taken to a room where they are forced to participate in a ritual that involves being buried in sand up to their necks. Michiko manages to break free and fight off the cult members, but Hatchin is still trapped. Michiko goes back to rescue Hatchin, but she is stopped by the cult leader, a woman named Carmo.

Carmo reveals that she is in possession of a rare butterfly that blocks out all light, and that she plans to use it to create a utopia for her followers. She tells Michiko that the only way to save Hatchin is to help her with her plan. Michiko reluctantly agrees, and the two of them set out to steal the butterfly from a nearby museum.

The heist goes smoothly at first, but things quickly go wrong when the police arrive. Michiko and Hatchin are forced to flee, but they are pursued by both the police and Carmo's cult members. They manage to lose their pursuers and make it back to the butterfly cult's building.

When they arrive, they find that the building is on fire. They rush inside to rescue Hatchin and any other members who may be trapped, but they are quickly overcome by smoke and flames. Just when it seems like all hope is lost, they are unexpectedly saved by a group of firefighters.

As the episode comes to a close, Michiko and Hatchin are back on the road, reflecting on their experiences in Santa Maria. They realize that they have grown closer as friends and partners, and that they are more determined than ever to find Hiroshi and start a new life together.
