Miami Vice Season 3 Episode 3, titled Killshot, centers around Crockett and Tubbs as they try to take down a ruthless drug lord named Esteban Calderone.
The episode begins with Calderone releasing his brother, Orlando, from prison. Calderone's plan is to use his brother to lure in and kill Crockett and Tubbs, who were responsible for putting Calderone's other brother in jail.
Crockett and Tubbs receive a tip from a DEA informant that Calderone's men are going to hit a shipment of drugs being transported through Miami. The duo decides to intercept the shipment and ambush Calderone's men.
However, the plan goes awry, as Calderone's men were expecting the ambush and were prepared to fight back. In the chaotic crossfire, the DEA informant is killed, and Crockett and Tubbs are forced to retreat.
Calderone sees this as an opportunity to turn the tide in his favor. He sends his brother, Orlando, to meet with Crockett and Tubbs, supposedly to broker a truce. However, Orlando is actually there to kill the two detectives.
Crockett and Tubbs eventually realize Orlando's true intentions and are forced to go on the run. They hide out in a fishing lodge, where they plan to wait out the danger and figure out a way to take down Calderone once and for all.
In the lodge, Crockett and Tubbs receive a visit from an old friend, a retired Navy SEAL named Frank Hackman. Hackman offers to help the duo take down Calderone, and they accept his offer.
The trio devises a plan to ambush Calderone at his mansion, where he is hosting a party. They infiltrate the party and engage Calderone and his men in a brutal firefight.
In the end, Crockett and Tubbs manage to take down Calderone, but not before Hackman sacrifices himself to save the detectives.
Killshot is an action-packed episode that showcases the danger and high stakes involved in taking down powerful drug lords. It also highlights the strong bond between Crockett and Tubbs and how they are willing to do whatever it takes to protect each other and bring justice to their city.
