As the fourth season of Miami Ink progresses, the show is really starting to hit its stride and it feels like the artists have all found their groove. Episode ten is titled "Ruthless and Toothless" and it focuses on two different tattoo designs. The first is a pin-up girl that Yoji is designing for a woman named Victoria. The second is a piece that the entire crew is working on together and it's for a guy named PJ who has some unique requests.
Yoji is clearly excited to be working on Victoria's tattoo. She's brought in a photo of a classic pin-up girl and Yoji is bringing his own style to the piece. He's drawn a cool-looking motorcycle in the background and Victoria is completely on board with his vision. After he draws the design on Victoria's back, he starts the tattooing process and it looks like it's going to be a gorgeous piece when it's finished.
Meanwhile, PJ is meeting with the entire Miami Ink team to talk about his design. He's decided that he wants a tattoo of the entire Miami skyline on his back, but with one major twist -- he doesn't have any teeth and he wants the skyscrapers to be full of gaping, toothless mouths. It's a strange request, but the crew is always up for a challenge. Ami, Garver, Yoji, and Darren all take on different parts of the tattoo and together they create a really unique piece.
Throughout the episode, we also get a few updates on some of the other artists and their personal lives. Ami is still dealing with the aftermath of the breakup with his girlfriend and he's not sure if he's ready to start dating again. Meanwhile, Darren is going on a road trip with his girlfriend to see some friends in New Orleans. It's clear that he's excited to take a break from the shop and spend some time exploring a new city.
As always, the show does a great job of balancing the personal and professional lives of the artists. We get to see them bonding with each other over PJ's bizarre tattoo idea, but we also see them supporting each other when someone is going through a tough time. It's part of what makes Miami Ink such a great show to watch -- you really feel like you're a part of this tight-knit group of artists.
Overall, "Ruthless and Toothless" is another great episode of Miami Ink. The two tattoo designs are both really interesting and unique, and it's cool to see the entire crew working together on PJ's tattoo. The personal moments help to round out the episode and make you feel even more invested in these artists and their lives. If you're a fan of Miami Ink, this is definitely an episode you won't want to miss.
