The episode opens with Shancai getting ready for her date with Dao Ming Si. She's a bundle of nerves, and not just because this is her first date with him, but because she's also nervous because of his social status and wealth.
On her way to meet Dao Ming Si, Shancai sees him at a distance, confronting a group of people. Soon, she realizes that he's intervening in a situation where some of his employees are being mistreated by their boss. Shancai sees a different side of Dao Ming Si in this moment, one that isn't a spoiled rich boy, but rather a kind and compassionate person who cares for the well-being of his employees.
After the situation is resolved, Dao Ming Si and Shancai go on their date. They go to an amusement park, and Dao Ming Si keeps trying to impress Shancai with his wealth and status by buying her expensive toys and treats. Shancai, however, is not impressed and tells him that she doesn't need expensive things to be happy.
The date takes a turn when Dao Ming Si's ex-girlfriend arrives unexpectedly. The ex-girlfriend is jealous of Shancai and sees her as a threat to her relationship with Dao Ming Si. Shancai feels uncomfortable and decides to leave. Dao Ming Si follows her and they end up taking a stroll along the beach. They talk about their future plans and aspirations, and Dao Ming Si tells Shancai that he wants to build a school for underprivileged children one day. This surprises Shancai, who realizes that Dao Ming Si has a kind, generous soul beneath his tough exterior.
Their conversation is interrupted by the arrival of Dao Ming Si's mother, who disapproves of Shancai. She insults Shancai and tries to bribe her into leaving her son alone. Shancai is hurt and offended and decides to break up with Dao Ming Si.
The episode ends with Shancai returning home, feeling disappointed and heartbroken. She realizes that falling for someone from a different social class comes with its own set of challenges, and she's not sure if she's ready to handle them. At the same time, Dao Ming Si is left heartbroken, wondering what he did wrong and why Shancai left without giving him a chance to explain.
Overall, episode 6 of Meteor Garden season 1 is a roller-coaster of emotions, with highs and lows, unexpected twists and turns, and complex character dynamics.
