In the sixth episode of the first season of Merlin, entitled "A Remedy to Cure All Ills," Camelot is hit by a deadly plague and all efforts to find a cure prove futile. With no other options, the king's court physician, Gaius, turns to a powerful magical root known as "the cure" in hopes of saving the kingdom. However, the use of magic is illegal in Camelot and the consequences for using it are severe.
As Merlin sets out to retrieve the cure, he encounters a mysterious young woman named Anhora who claims to know the cure's location. Anhora reveals that the cure is in the hands of an evil sorceress named Nimueh, who is using it as a bargaining chip to get revenge on Uther, the king of Camelot. Merlin must sneak into Nimueh's lair and retrieve the cure before it's too late.
Meanwhile, Arthur is determined to prove his worth as a knight and ventures out alone to find the cure. However, he too is struck down by the plague, leaving Merlin to save both the prince and the kingdom. With time running out, Merlin faces off against Nimueh in a high-stakes battle that will determine the fate of the kingdom.
As Merlin fights for the cure, he discovers a shocking truth about his own abilities and is forced to make a difficult decision that will impact the rest of his life. Will Merlin be able to retrieve the cure and save Camelot from the deadly plague? Tune in to find out in "A Remedy to Cure All Ills."
