In Merlin season 1 episode 3, titled "The Mark of Nimueh," Camelot is attacked by a mysterious plague that is killing the people. King Uther seeks help from Gaius, the court physician, who advises him that the only person who can cure the disease is the sorceress Nimueh.
Despite Merlin's objections, Uther sends him on a quest to find Nimueh and bring her back to Camelot. While on his journey, Merlin encounters a group of bandits who try to rob him. However, he is saved by a young girl named Freya, who lives alone in the woods. They strike up a friendship and Merlin learns that she too has magical powers.
When Merlin finally finds Nimueh, she reveals that the only way to cure the plague is to sacrifice a life. Uther volunteers himself, but Merlin and Gaius realize that Nimueh's true plan is to kill Uther, not cure the plague. Together, Gaius and Merlin devise a plan to stop Nimueh and save the king.
Meanwhile, back in Camelot, Morgana becomes infected with the plague and is in critical condition. Sir Leon volunteers to take her to the Isle of the Blessed, a mysterious place where people are said to be miraculously healed. Despite the danger, Leon embarks on the perilous journey to save Morgana's life.
In "The Mark of Nimueh," tensions rise as Merlin and Gaius race against time to save Camelot from the deadly plague. They will need to use all of their wit, courage, and magic to outsmart Nimueh and stop her from carrying out her evil plan. Will they be able to save the kingdom and its people, or will they fall victim to Nimueh's treacherous scheme?
