Mentir para Vivir is a Mexican telenovela that aired in 2013 on Canal de las Estrellas. It features Leticia Perdigon in the starring role of Rafaela, a woman who must resort to lying in order to protect her daughter from a dangerous situation. Rafaela is a devoted mother who will do anything to keep her daughter, Valentina, safe. However, when she discovers that her husband has been involved in criminal activities, she realizes that Valentina is also in danger. Rafaela decides that the only way to protect her daughter is to run away with her and start a new life.
In order to keep their true identities a secret, Rafaela begins to lie about who they are and where they come from. Meanwhile, Rafaela's past begins to catch up with her when her husband's associates come looking for her. She must use all of her wit and resourcefulness to stay one step ahead of them, and to protect Valentina at all costs.
As the story progresses, Rafaela must navigate a web of lies and deceit in order to keep herself and her daughter safe. Along the way, she discovers the meaning of true love, friendship, and family.
